Google Photos keeps years of memories locked in one Google account, but life moves on — a new email, a bigger storage plan, or a fresh start. Getting your photos out of the old account and into the new one is rarely as easy as it should be. MultCloud makes the move simple.

Make sure the destination Google Photos account has enough free space, at least 1.2 times of the source Google Photos library. The Google Photos migration will be fail if there is not enough available space, you have to clean up Google Drive storage first.
For huge libraries, choose key albums instead of the entire account. Migrating everything, including duplicates, unnecessary files, etc, costs time and effort, as well as your Google Photos storage space. Google Photos move to another account performed smoothly with MultCloud.

A: The Partner Sharing feature is the most straightforward method for a direct transfer. You share your entire library with the new account from the old account's settings, and then the new account accepts the invitation and saves the photos to its library. This process runs in the background and automatically syncs the photos. Or you can try MultCloud to move between Google Photos accounts directly.
A: Yes. The transfer methods copy your photos; they do not move or delete them from the source account. If your goal is to free up storage space in the old account, you will need to manually delete the photos or set up auto-deletion with MultCloud after confirming they are safely saved in the new account.
A: No, this is a major limitation. While Partner Sharing copies all of your photos, it does not transfer your albums. You will have to manually recreate them in the new account.
A: This is one of the biggest challenges, especially when using Google Takeout. It separates photos from their metadata (date, location) into .json files. When re-uploaded, photos show the upload date instead of the original one. So to preserve the original dates and metadata of your photos, use a tool like ExifTool to merge the .json metadata back into the photos before uploading.
A: When transferring Google Photos to another account, captions are preserved, edit history is lost, and face tags must be entirely rebuilt. How this metadata behaves depends heavily on the migration method you choose. Perform a test before a real migration.
A: Once you have "saved" the shared photos to your new account's library, they become a permanent part of that library. If the original account later deletes a photo, the copy you have saved will not be deleted from your new account.
