MultCloud: The Smarter Way to Sync Google Drive & OneDrive

Google Drive and OneDrive are great - but they do not sync natively. Manual sync means juggling two apps, wasting bandwidth, and risking version chaos. MultCloud fixes all that with server-to-server sync - no local resources, no duplicates, no hassle.

Google Drive and OneDrive desktop apps slowing a computer

No More System Slowdown

Both Google Drive and OneDrive desktop apps drain CPU, RAM, and disk I/O. OneDrive alone can slow Windows 11, spike disk usage, and kill battery life. Running both? Expect a sluggish machine.

MultCloud runs 100% in the cloud — zero local CPU, RAM, or background processes.

Direct server-to-server cloud sync

Cut Bandwidth Waste in Half

Manual sync downloads then re-uploads every file—doubling data usage. A 10 GB folder can take 2+ hours on a 10 Mbps connection. OneDrive also throttles uploads by default.

MultCloud syncs server-to-server — your internet stays free, and files move directly between Google and Microsoft data centers.

Cross-cloud synchronization modes

True Cross-Cloud Sync, Built-In

No native sync exists between Google Drive and OneDrive. Workarounds like Takeout (zip exports, no real-time), drag-and-drop (duplicates, no shared files), or dual apps (double storage) all fail at incremental or scheduled sync.

MultCloud offers 10 sync modes — real-time, two-way, mirror, cumulative, and more—all from one dashboard.

Identical files in Google Drive and OneDrive

One Version, Zero Duplicates

Manual copies lead to version confusion, lost edits, broken permissions, and formatting issues with Google Docs/Sheets/Slides. You're left guessing which cloud has the latest file.

MultCloud's smart sync (two-way, incremental, mirror) keeps both clouds identical—no duplicates, no version conflicts.

Create a Cloud Sync task

Step 3. Create a Cloud Sync Task

Go to the "Cloud Sync" tab. Select Google Drive (or specific folders) as the source and OneDrive as the destination. Choose Two-way Real time sync in Options, or configure file filters, email notifications, and sync schedules.

Pro Tip: Select Real-Time Sync + Two-Way mode to ensure any file added, modified, or deleted on either cloud is instantly mirrored to the other.

Start syncing Google Drive and OneDrive

Step 4. Start Syncing

Click the "Sync Now" button. The sync runs entirely on MultCloud's servers — you can close your browser, shut down your computer, and even disconnect from the internet. MultCloud's 10-thread parallel processing engine handles the rest.

All Sync Modes That MultCloud Supports

Choose the right sync strategy for your workflow. From real-time mirroring to incremental backups, each mode is designed to keep your files consistent across clouds.

Two-Way Real Time Sync

Continuous bidirectional mirroring. Any change (add, modify, or delete) made in either directory is instantly replicated to the other. Both directories remain identical at all times with near-zero delay.

One-Way Real Time Sync

Instant one-way replication. Changes made in the source directory are copied to the target immediately. Changes in the target are ignored and never sent back to the source.

Two-Way Normal Sync

Bidirectional synchronization. Changes in either directory are replicated to the other, but only when the sync task is manually or automatically triggered. Both directories become identical after each sync run.

Simple Sync

Basic one-way transfer. Changes in the source are copied to the target when triggered. Changes in the target are never replicated back to the source.

Mirror Sync

Exact one-way clone. The target directory is made to look exactly like the source. Any file in the target that does not exist in the source is automatically deleted to ensure a perfect match.

Move Sync

Files are moved from the source to the target, and then all files in the source directory are permanently deleted. This is ideal for migrating data off a source location.

Cumulative Sync

Add-only accumulation. New and modified files in the source are copied to the target. However, deletions in the source are NOT replicated in the target.

Update Sync

Refresh and replace. The target directory is completely wiped first, then only the newly added and modified files from the source are transferred over. Deleted source files are ignored.

Incremental Sync

Each time when you sync files, a subdirectory will be created in the target directory so that the added and modified files in the source directory will be transferred to it.

Full Backup Sync

Each time when you sync files, a subdirectory will be created in the target directory so that all the files in the source directory will be transferred to it.
